The Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Houston (KACC Houston) proudly hosted its 2026 Biennial Gala on April 10 at the Thompson Houston, bringing together an extraordinary gathering of business leaders, public officials, and community members to celebrate the strength and future of the Korean American business community.

A Citywide Recognition of Impact

In a meaningful milestone, the City of Houston officially proclaimed April 10 as “Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Houston Day.” This recognition highlights the Chamber’s longstanding contributions to economic development, international trade, and community leadership.

With Korea ranking among Houston’s top global trading partners, the gala reinforced the Chamber’s vital role as a bridge between Korea and the United States—connecting business, culture, and opportunity.


Leadership for the Next Chapter

Under the theme “Turning a New Leaf,” the evening marked a transition into a new chapter of leadership and momentum for KACC Houston.


President Vivienne Kwon shared a forward-looking vision focused on:

  • Guiding businesses through scaling, mergers and acquisitions, and exit strategies

  • Supporting adaptation to emerging technologies

  • Expanding cross-cultural business education

  • Strengthening collaboration across Korean and mainstream organizations


Chairman Ethan Lee, alongside the 2026–2027 Board of Directors—including Vice Presidents Jacey Jetton, Daniel Yoo and Brian Kim, Secretary Lisa Cheng, Treasurer Sean Rheem, and board members Anne Park, David Kang, Charles Kim, and Dana Oh—represents a dynamic leadership team committed to advancing the Chamber’s mission.


The gala also honored past presidents while reinforcing a sustainable leadership pipeline for future generations.

The event welcomed distinguished guests including Consul General Lee Kyung-eun, U.S. Congressman Al Green, U.S. Congressman Christian Menefee, and numerous civic and business leaders. Their presence reflected the growing influence and integration of the Korean American business community within Houston’s broader economic ecosystem.


A Celebration of Culture, Art, and Excellence

Beyond business and leadership, the gala showcased Korean culture and creativity through a thoughtfully curated program of performances, fashion, and visual arts.

The evening featured exceptional musical talent, including:

  • Megan Martono, violinist from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music

  • David Kang, professional stock trader and founder of CTFO, who delivered a special performance

Fashion Show Highlights

A signature highlight of the evening was the fashion presentation, featuring:

  • A presentation by the Korean Cultural Learning Institute, showcasing traditional hanbok and Korean heritage

  • Yubi Lee, artist and hanbok designer from Yubi Studio Gallery

  • Christy Lynn Lee, a creative director known for blending modern fashion with Korean-inspired design

Featured Artists

The gala also spotlighted a distinguished group of artists and cultural contributors:

  • Yubi Lee, whose work reinterprets traditional hanbok through contemporary artistic expression

  • Cha Dae Duck, a seasoned Korean painter recognized for expressive compositions and depth

  • Miller Quevedo, known for contemporary works that explore harmony, balance, and higher awareness


In addition, Opera Gallery was featured as a global art institution representing internationally acclaimed artists. With a presence in major cities such as New York, London, Paris, and Hong Kong, Opera Gallery plays a significant role in bridging established masters and emerging talent, further elevating the artistic dimension of the evening.


This curated presentation of artists reflects KACC Houston’s commitment to celebrating not only business leadership, but also cultural and creative excellence.


Program Excellence and Distinguished Presenters

The evening was guided by Master of Ceremonies Jaewon Jung, an award-winning journalist from KPRC 2, alongside an invocation by The Honorable Yong J. Ahn, former federal prosecutor.

A special video message from Simon Kim, CEO of Gracious Hospitality Management and founder of the Michelin-starred COTE, added a global business perspective to the program .
